Dear Terry,
I'd recommend our English <-> Chinese ECTACO iTRAVL NTL-2Ch which you may find online at
http://www.ectaco.com/products/ECTACO-NTL-2Ch
The device has a bilingual user's interface and includes an extensive vocabulary of over 560,000 words and over 14,000 phrases.
Advanced English and Chinese synthesized voice output is available for all dictionary entries. Both the English and Chinese human voice output is available for all phrasebook entries.
Pinyin input and output is available for all dictionary entries. The device utilizes a Wubi system of input allowing to enter Chinese characters by using keystrokes.
You can actually type in any sentence in English using the virtual keyboard on the screen in order to have it translated into Chinese Simplified and vice versa.

You can also speak a phrase into the unit in English or in Chinese Mandarin and it will pronounce the translation using a real human voice as recorded by native speakers.
The speech recognition is limited to the number of phrases in the phrasebook. You can also add up to 50 phrases of your own.

The E15C is an older version so I'd rather recommend to get the multilingual iTRAVL or 900 series model.
You can also get the additional language cards for the English <-> Chinese iTRAVL NTL-2Ch.
Should you need any additional information, please feel free to email us directly at sales@ectaco.com
